printyourtwitter.com
Recently I built printyourtwitter.com. I built it for fun and because I wanted to print my own tweets . But it turns out that there is a lot of interest for it. Yesterday it was featured on the nerdboytv channel (item starts at 1:45).
From a technological point of view it is interesting to note that this is a 100% clientside app so the infrastructure for this app is minimal. I just serve the 11k of html from my own server and all the js, css and images files are being served from amazon s3 servers. That makes the infrastructure needed for this app really simple and minimal. Which is nice thing if you see what kind of impact it already is making.
Also mentioned on: computeridee.nl, bright.nl, dutchcowgirls.nl and pcmweb.nl, jimlyonsobservations.com and featured on the dutch radio 1 show 'tros radio online' (last 4 minutes).
And the latest buzz on twitter.com

Goed idee!
Alleen jammer dat er, nadat de twwets zijn verzameld, op mijn Mac geen 'print tweets' knop verschijnt.
Ik gebruik Safari als browser.
In FiriFox ook geen print knop.

thank your for the great job! but there is a problem for me, i set my timezone as (GMT+8:00)BEIJING on twitter.com, but after i get my print version on "printyourtwitter.com", the time-zone is wrong, become +0000, 8hours earlier, is this a bug? would you be kind enough to find out and fix the problem? thank you so much!

Hi Anonymous,
Thanks a lot for the report! That's good feedback.
It is probably a bug... I think. I will have a look at it. Hopefully this weekend. I will post a notification when this issue is fixed on this thread.

Hello Tom,
TYVVVM for developing the app; just what I was looking for (to both archive my tweets and search through them)! :) It's a whole lot easier than keeping on clicking the "more" link near the bottom of the twitter page that's for sure! Set my local printer to my preferred convert-to-PDF s/w then used Acrobat Reader's search function as needed. Also did a "print to text file" w/ a view experienting on a way to import the tweets to a database (on my PC) for more flexibility in formatting, etc.
I do have a question though... Why is there no "Log out" button/link?
Again, many thanks for sharing your project. :)

In reaction to the "i set my timezone as (GMT+8:00)BEIJING on twitter.com" problem.
Printyourtwitter.com displays the creation date of your tweets according to the time zone settings of your computer. To me this seems to be the most logical reference and the least risky assumption. I can not rely on the settings on twitter.com because a lot of people have set their timezone to that of Iran during the recent protests over there.
So if the timezone you set on twitter.com differs from the timezone settings on your computer the timezone setting on your computer will override the settings of twitter.com.
I guess if you want print your tweets as if you are in a different time zone than where you actually are (according to your computer settings) you should temporarily adjust your timezone settings of your computer.
